1. Round Top Mountain Trail

Enjoy hiking trails that circle a well-known local landmark — Round Top Mountain. The mountain can be seen prominently just south of Jasper and features some of the Ozarks’ most spectacular views. Various trail loops total close to 3 miles and feature beautiful wild flowers in the Spring, Paw Paw trees in late Summer, and colorful foliage in the Fall.

Bradley House Museum Jasper Arkansas

2. Bradley House Museum

Former home of Dr. W. A. Bradley, now operated by the Newton County Historical Society as a museum. The museum collects and preserves historical and geological material relating to Newton County and the surrounding area.

3. The Little Buffalo River

The Little Buffalo River flows right through the center of Jasper and is a perfect place to get your feet wet! It is great for both fishing and swimming. Two easy places you can access the Little Buffalo River are at Bradley Park and next to the Little Buffalo River Bridge, right across from Yeager’s Junction Quik Stop. It is a perfect place to cool off on a hot summer day. Some of the most popular fish you can expect to catch in the river are: Smallmouth Bass, Bluegill, Spotted Bass, and Catfish.

4. Bradley Park

This city owned park features a peaceful walking path located along the Little Buffalo River. Plenty of places to picnic, fish, and swim. This bend of the Little Buffalo River was frequently used by local churches in the early days for baptisms, and on special occasions, still is.

5. Scenic Point

Widely considered a “must see”, Scenic Point lives up to its name. You can see a distance of over 40 miles from the lookout tower on a clear day — all the way into Missouri! Enjoy panoramic views of the Little Buffalo and Buffalo River valleys. Also features a unique gift shop with native crafts and Ozark souvenirs.

6. Pruitt Trailhead — Buffalo National River

Popular Buffalo National River access point, located directly off of HWY 7. Enjoy a beautiful picnic area with lots of shade trees. Perfect for fishing and swimming. Direct access to the Buffalo River Trail and only a 2-mile walk to neighboring Ozark Campground. Canoe access is located across HWY 7 at Pruitt Landing.

7. Ozark Campground

Beautiful campground that sits along the Buffalo National River. Open year-round with 31 campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern hook. Features a large pavilion in the middle of the campground. Flush toilets and drinking water are available March 15th to November 14th. Camping RVs are allowed. (No hookups available.)

8. Koen Experimental Forest

The Koen Experimental Forest features a walking trail that is wheelchair accessible. The forest spans 720-acres and you can see 34+ different kinds of trees and plants identified along the trail. Named after Henry R. Koen, forest supervisor of the Ozark National Forest during the first half of the 20th century.

9. Newton County Library

The Newton County Library houses a large collection of historic family records that date back to the first settlers of the area. Artwork donated by local artists Bill McNamara and Max Standley.
